Luke 5:36-39
He told them this parable:
“No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new one will not match the old.
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.
No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, ‘THE OLD IS BETTER. ‘ “
This parable told by Jesus is in answer to the Pharisees and teachers law. They were complaining about Jesus and his disciples eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners.
They had many problems with Jesus changing the way things were done in the way of their understanding of the law of Moses.
By his teaching they were being confronted with change. The familiar way of doing things handed down from generation to generation must be right……RIGHT?
Standing before them was the NEW COVENANT in flesh and blood. And the parable explained to everyone why they could not receive his new of doing things.

*** WHEN SOMEONE LIKES THE OLD WAY OF DOING THINGS THEY REJECT THE NEW THAT CHALLENGES THEM TO CHANGE **
*** THESE PHARISEES AND TEACHERS OF THE LAW POSITIONS AND INFLUENCE WERE ALSO BEING CONFRONTED ***
*** THEY SAID…”THE OLD IS BETTER” ***
In America 2026, religion, politics, economics, many say……

Jesus is always pressing us into a new and better way of doing things. It will continually line up with his life, walk, and teaching.

*** FEAR OF MAN ***
*** HISTORY OF RACISM IN AMERICA ***
*** MIXING WITH POLITICS OF THE PAST
*** STUBBORNNESS ***
*** FEAR OF LOSING STATUS ***
*** THE PRIDE OF LIFE ***
Jesus is saying…..FOLLOW ME.
*** HE WANTS HIS CHURCH TO REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN HAS COME NEAR ***
*** HE WANTS TRUE LIGHT TO SHINE *
*** HE WANTS HIS TEACHING FOLLOWED BY EVERYONE WHO SAYS THEY BELONG TO HIM ***
* LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART *
* LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF
* TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED *
* LOVE YOUR ENEMIES *
* DO NOT BE JUDGEMENTAL *
* DO EVERYTHING TO BE SEEN BY FATHER GOD AND NOT TO BE SEEN BY PEOPLE *
* LOVE DOES NO HARM TO A NIEGHBOR *
* FORGIVE PEOPLE *
* MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS *
* OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD *
In America 2026 follow Jesus and not Americas past.
“I WILL LEAD THE BLIND IN WAYS THEY DO NOT KNOW….ALONG UNFAMILIAR PATHES I WILL GUIDE THEM….I WILL MAKE DARKNESS LIGHT BEFORE THEM AND THE CROOKED PLACES STRAIGHT….THESE ARE THE THINGS I WILL DO FOR THEM….
“I WILL NOT FORSAKE THEM”
America and the American church system. You must first admit you are blind.
*** YOUR OLD WAY OF DOING THINGS MUST CHANGE CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
*** YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD **
*** YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH ***
THE PEOPLE WHO SAT IN DARKNES AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT.
REMEMBER NOT THE FORMER THINGS, NEITHER THE THIGS OF OLD…BEHOLD I DO A NEW THING…NOW IT SHALL SPRING FORTH….SHALL YOU NOT KNOW IT?
I MAKE A WAY IN THE WILDERNESS AND RIVERS IN THE DESERT.
If anyone is “IN CHRIST” he is a new creation OLD THINGS HAVE PAST AWAY
EVERYTHING HAS BECOME NEW.

*** REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN HAS COME NEAR ***
