“TRADITIONAL WAYS” has many different meanings depending on your race, tribe, nationality. It’s drawing power is that of getting back to your roots or when your people were stronger, better off.
It seems that many want to reach into the past to find their future. For Indigenous Peoples ln America this really is compelling.
Think about it, we were rulers of our own destiny under the Great Spirit. We were not prisoners of war or conquered people as in reality we are today.
A return to the old way is popular among many Native People. We want to feel good about ourselves and find our purpose. Why has organized Christianity made it so hard on us? Did not Jesus die on the cross for Native People?
JESUS DID DIE ON THE CROSS FOR US. GOD HAS A GREAT LOVE FOR WINTU, WIYOT, YOROK, PIT RIVER, AND ALL OTHER INDIGENOUS TRIBES AND BANDS.
We are second to none in his eyes as he does not favor one people group over another. The big problem is that men masquerading in the guise of Christ have treated us horribly.
NOW…….back to what I know about Jesus and what he came to do. HE HAS REVEALED WHO GOD IS. His character and what he wants to accomplish in and through man kind. Jesus has set us right with Father God.
For me personally…….he lives in me! I here his voice speaking within me, showing me the way. I talk to him as my friend who I respect and trust with my life. Nothing is impossible for me. He upholds me and makes my path straight. I AM MORE OF A COMPLETE NATIVE MAN NOW THAN I EVER WAS AS A TRADITIONAL.
